About the Lineage

The Modern Mystery School is comprised of a group of individuals who have dedicated their lives to the creation of World Peace through spiritual empowerment and progression. The school holds the energetic keys of the Lineage of King Salomon, and the teachings have been taught teacher to student in an oral tradition for over 3,000 years!

In 1997, Founder Gudni Gudnason opened the Modern Mystery School to the public. This is the time of no more secrets, and because of the challenges our planet is facing today this knowledge is needed more than ever before!

The Modern Mystery School has initiates in over 50 countries, with headquarters in Toronto and Tokyo.

The path of the Modern Mystery School requires us to live life through the wisdom of our heart instead of the business of the mind, and to constantly choose what is right and good for ourselves and those around us (especially if one pursues higher levels of initiation). The path of initiation opens up new doors of possibility for each person, helping the initiate to see and actualize their highest potential.

This is a path of magick for the good of all, and constantly working on knowing yourself at a deeper level. The work of an initiate is never done! We must always grow and strive towards perfecting ourselves as human beings.

What is Lineage?

Lineage is what separates an authentic mystery school from a passing trend. Ours traces back over 3,000 years to King Salomon himself, carried forward through an unbroken chain of teacher to student, sealed at every generation by the sacred process of initiation.

This lineal transfer has protected the integrity of the teachings across time — and through it, initiates gain access to knowledge that has shaped the great masters throughout history. To walk this path is to join that continuity: a global family devoted to the Great Work of becoming who you were always meant to be.

What is Lineage?

Culture of Light

Rooted in a Hermetic lineage tracing back to King Salomon, our Culture of Light is a way of living, not a set of rules. It asks each initiate to Know Thyself — through meditation, discernment, and the steady work of choosing growth over fear — and to meet the world with unity, compassion, and hope rather than division.

This culture holds no borders. It welcomes every background, every story, every soul willing to do the work of becoming more of who they already are.

The Modern Mystery School is led by three Lineage Holders, known as

The Third Order

All lineages have main key holders, individuals who hold and anchor the lineage on the planet and hold the authority to keep the door of the mystery school open to those who seek the Light. In this lineage, the main key holders are titled The Third Order and in union, they administer and attend to maintaining the purity of the lineage and its teachings.

The keys to this lineage are held by three initiates:

Sovereign Ipsissimus Founder Gudni Gudnason

Gudni Gudnason, often referred to as “Founder Gudni,” is a master metaphorical teacher who imparts metaphysical and esoteric principles using analogy, allegory, and parable. Through humour, theatrics and the sharing of fantastical tales, he shares his hidden wisdom, knowledge, methods, and tools. He uses these methods to allow students to explore their own insights and test the clarity of their discernment. The student is meant to discern a deeper meaning in the stories to question their own preconceived notions and beliefs. He reminds all students that they are their own best teacher, but only through discernment and considering alternative perspectives can one come to know what they truly know. If a tool doesn’t resonate with a student, he guides them to another, encouraging them to dive deeper into the mysteries by delving into mythos and potentialities held in our self mastery and understanding.

Sovereign Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon

Sovereign Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon has been the driving force behind the explosive growth of The Mystery School since he joined the Lineage in 2004 and we have seen the school expand from 12 countries to 55 with his efforts.

As a lineage holder for the Modern Mystery School in the tradition of King Salomon, he specializes in presenting Hermetic and Esoteric wisdom in practical and actionable ways.

Sovereign Ipsissimus Hideto REI Nakagome

Sovereign Ipsissimus Hideto REI Nakagome has been instrumental behind the growth of the Mystery School since he joined the lineage in the year 2000. He immediately saw the importance of the mission of World Peace and wanted to support this undertaking right away. He has worked passionately ever since.

He comes from a pure Japanese Bushi or Samurai family, and accesses that amazing power in his work within the Modern Mystery School. When teaching he does so with humor and fun so that the students relax and enjoy their study.

Through years of dedicated study, disciplined practice, and ongoing personal growth, these individuals have attained the highest level of initiation within the Lineage of King Salomon, embodying a profound mastery of their chosen path.

THE COUNCIL OF TWELVE

In 2017, when the Third Order was initiated, the Council of 12 was also activated. The Council of 12 is a group of 12 women, high-level initiates from all over the world who serve as leadership for the Modern Mystery School.

The Council of 12 work directly with the Third Order to execute the directives of the Hierarchy of Light for service to humanity on this earth. The 12 women provide council, confirmation and conference to the members of the Third Order about the various projects and missions of the MMS.

The women who occupy the seats of the Council of 12 rotate through their roles as is needed so you will see some of these women shift and change year-to-year.

The installation in 2017 has allowed for the Goddess power and connection with the Shekinah to be anchored through these structures of the Third Order. This manifests as the implementation of the various levels of operation required for the running of the Modern Mystery School.
